A new year is right around the corner. Once again, it’s time to celebrate the approaching year and bring out a list of new year’s resolutions summing up your hopes, dreams, and goals for the coming year.
Reflection
Before you go about planning the days ahead, though, take a few moments to reflect on what you have accomplished and what didn’t go so well. Like most people, you probably have questions and doubts that need to be answered before you can move on.
Did I like the past year? Did I make progress?
What mistakes did I make? What lessons did I learn?
What success did I achieve in this past year?
What am I going to do differently next year? What do I want to achieve?
Do these questions sound familiar?
If yes, that’s just because these are all common questions that most people think about.
Starting the New Year on a Positive Note
While it’s good to sit and reflect, it’s even more important to improve and prepare to take on your 2018 new year’s resolution actions with a fresh wave of positivity and build a new you by changing the way you think.
Life is filled with ups and downs, and now is the time to perceive it in a more positive way by teaching and training your brain and body to think differently.
Changing Your Mindset
How you perceive the outside world has a direct impact on your reality.
If you perceive things with an open and positive attitude your life as a whole will become more positive. It’s all about the way you perceive a situation and what you choose to look at.
A positive attitude is an adopted attitude; something that needs to be practiced and worked on. No one is born positive or negative; it’s a choice that one makes.
Positive Affirmations
Changing a long-held mindset can be difficult, but with positive thinking apps like ThinkUp which offers a wide collection of powerful affirmations including some really inspiring affirmations for women, the process can be made a lot simpler and more convenient.
Just download the app and record powerful self-affirmations in your own voice. You can even add your favorite music as a background track to it so you can listen to them before you go to bed.
Since the new year is coming soon, you can also use it to record your new year’s resolutions for later playback. Have you decided on your new year’s resolutions yet? Do share you top picks with us so we can compare and share ideas.
Do you want to be a celebrity? Do you want to be famous and successful? You can be, if you build a positive mindset and believe in it!
YES!
That’s how affirmations work.
Nothing ever happens without an intention and everything happens because of our own thoughts. Well, if you don’t believe that you can, take inspiration from these celebrities:
Jim Carrey
Jim Carrey, a leading Hollywood star, is probably the biggest believer in the power of positive mindset.
Long before he was this successful superstar, he had already started believing he will get here someday. His thoughts and affirmations were so strong that he got to exactly where he wanted to be.
It is he who says that nothing in this world happens without a thought and intention behind it. He imagined his success and constantly believed in it and today his affirmations have made him a global celebrity.
Denzel Washington
Denzel Washington, A-list Hollywood star, is also indebted to affirmations for his skyrocketing success.
He got over his drinking problem and all other problems that were holding back his mind and body from achieving greater things with the help of his positive mindset.
He started believing in his own craft and made it to the top!
Jennifer Lopez
The megastar says that her day is incomplete without at least 15 minutes dedicated to affirmations.
She has always said that it’s affirmations that have brought in success for her and it is what helps her stay grounded.
The industry is cruel and tough, and according to her, affirmations help her stay strong and positive.
Oprah Winfrey
From poverty to becoming one of the world’s wealthiest women, Oprah Winfrey is one of the biggest believers and supporters of a positive mindset.
Her success story is truly inspiring and she has stated that without affirmations, she would not have accomplished all that she has.
You’ve Read Their Stories, Now it’s Your Turn

An attitude focused on gratitude makes life beautiful and meaningful.
It allows you to connect with yourself and make the heart and the mind work on the same frequency. It assures you that you did something right or you are at a level of energy where something works for you.
Why Does Practicing Gratefulness Increases Our Level of Happiness?
When you focus on the things that you are grateful for, you increase your level of energy and attract more positive things in your life.
Therefore, when you make this a daily practice and do not allow anything to “disturb” your calmness, you unlock the code to happiness.
Keeping a State of Mind Focused on Gratitude
You don’t depend on the outside world for happiness and your happiness is steady and completely in your control.
Keeping such a state of mind makes you feel secure in the world. You have true happiness within you and no situation or no person can change that.
When you think of something pleasant, your body starts to react to it. So every positive thought increases the level of serotonin in your body and “opens your heart.”
The Challenge of Filling Yourself With Gratitude
The key to filling yourself with gratitude is to start being thankful for all the wonderful things you have around you instead of focusing on the things that you don’t have.
When you live a life of gratitude you unlock true happiness and begin your journey towards fulfillment.
By expressing gratitude on a daily basis, you can change the way you think and feel and reprogram your mind, ultimately increasing your level of positive energy.
Below, you will find some examples of my favorite gratitude-focused affirmations that you can also choose to adopt for yourself.
Gratitude Focused Affirmations That I Really Like
1. I am grateful for my life’s challenges for helping me grow and become who I am.
2. I am grateful for the chance to become healthier through diet, exercise, and healthy routines.
3. Every day I am becoming more and more grateful for what I have in my life.
4. I am grateful for the love in my life for letting me feel what it means to truly be alive.
5. I am grateful for the roof over my head and my warm home.

If you need more powerful affirmations to start your journey towards a state of mind focused on gratitude, the ThinkUp app has a lot of positive affirmations that you can use in your daily life.

It is four o’clock in the morning and here I am writing an article about powerful affirmations.
Most people might think I’m crazy to be up this early. But for me, this time is sacred.
It’s quiet in the house. I can focus with no interruptions. I have the freedom to explore my thoughts and ideas or I can just sit in silence and relish my solitude.
Daphne, every day, you are taking the steps you need to live a life filled with meaning and purpose. Your work devoted to women’s self-leadership is helping thousands of women flourish and thrive.”
Starting Your Day Right
I have a ritual and I never deviate from it.
I’m like an athlete preparing for an event. I sit at my desk and get ready to start my morning ritual. I turn on my essential oil diffuser and breathe in its pure, therapeutic fragrance. Then, I launch into what I call my morning ‘power hour’ which sets the stage for the day ahead.
My power hour is devoted to gratitude, journaling, learning, and visualization. But there is one practice in particular that I find incredibly beneficial to my spiritual development: positive morning affirmations.
Positive Morning Affirmations
Positive affirmations are a series of positive statements you say to yourself. Done properly, they have the power to shape your thoughts and rewire your brain so you can become the highest, truest version of yourself.
To help you craft powerful affirmations to start your day right, I’ve created a five-step process that will help you start your own journey toward cultivating a powerful, positive mindset.
Five Steps to Crafting the Perfect Powerful Affirmations
Step 1
Focus on the details: when crafting your powerful affirmations, make sure to be specific. Write out exactly what it is you are accomplishing, how, and with whom.
Example: [Your name], you are engaging with highly skilled thought-leaders and as a result, you are developing key connections that will allow you to thrive and flourish in your marketing career.
Step 2
Use action verbs: make sure your powerful affirmations describe a particular action.
In doing so, you’re sending a signal to your brain that you need to act to get closer to your goal. Craft every affirmation with action verbs and you’ll be on your way to creating a brilliant future.
Example: Engaging, flourishing, connecting, reaching, achieving, etc.
Step 3
Feel it: don’t recite your powerful affirmations like a robot.
Rather, take the time to feel your words. Affirmations should be giving you goosebumps and create a sense of genuine hope and accomplishment.
This is the superpower of affirmations. If they aren’t stirring you from the inside, change them or tweak them.
Step 4
Use the second person: as you read or recite your powerful affirmations, do so as if you are talking to a close friend.
Life coach and author, Brendon Burchard, calls this “self-coaching.” This practice is highly important to prime your mind and to generate self-motivation.
Example: [Julie], every day, you are taking the steps you need to meet your quarterly goal of landing three new clients.
Step 5
Add visuals: if you want to boost the effectiveness of your affirmations, add an image that reflects the vision of your powerful affirmations.
This will help crystallize the affirmation in your mind and increase its positive effects. Plus, if you’re a visual learner, you’ll appreciate this extra step.
Although I have several ongoing positive affirmations in my journal, I often go back to this one. Feel free to adjust it to your needs and add it to your collection, or simply draw inspiration from it.
” Daphne, your thoughts, actions, and words are aligning with your destiny. You are where you need to be at this moment in time and you are enjoying the journey to unlimited growth and success.”
In this world in which we are constantly struggling to counter the potential negative effects of violence, war, and chaos, positive affirmations, done daily and mindfully, can prime your mind to be open and receptive to whatever incredible opportunities may present themselves. They help broaden your awareness and propel you to flourish and thrive.

Positive affirmations for teens can help teens rewire their brain and help them deal with their daily lives.
Teens are more susceptible to peer pressure and make more shortsighted decisions than adults for several reasons.
First of all, their prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain which helps moderate emotional and impulse control, is not fully developed until the early to mid-twenties.
In addition, they are more interested in their peers’ opinions than their parents or other adults. They also worry about what other people think of them which decreases their self-esteem.
Lastly, their subconscious thoughts control up to 95% of teens’ habits and behaviors. All these reasons make it more challenging for your teen to make decisions.
With every decision they make, they risk the possibility of getting sucked into the Chronic Stress Loop — a cycle of prolonged periods of time filled with stress that lead to the production of chemicals that can damage the part of the brain responsible for regulating stress, which, in turn, can lead to the increased production of the same chemicals — turning it into an endless loop that will slowly wear your teen down.
Because this can have a significant impact on your teen’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being, it is important to incorporate positive affirmations in their daily habits to counter it.
Positive affirmations for teens aim to help teens in rewiring their brains and help them deal with daily challenges.
Help Your Teen Break Out of the Chronic Stress Loop
Positive affirmations for teens can help your teen break out of the Chronic Stress Loop.
By doing so, they can confidently make smarter decisions, manage expectations better, experience more success, and be happy and healthy in school and beyond.
Let’s take a look at what the shift might look like.
Teens’ prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain which helps
moderate emotional and impulse control is not fully
developed until the early to mid-twenties.
Pushing Those Negative Thoughts Away
Teens have stressful thoughts throughout the week.
While they get ready for school in the morning they might think, “I wish my hair was straight like hers. My hair is disgusting.”
During school, they might think, “I am going to fail that test. I am so bad at math.”
When faced with a choice to smoke or drink they might think, “I better say yes. I don’t want to look like a kid. I want people to like me.”
These thoughts are not helping your teen make smart decisions.
Help Your Teens Change the Way They Think With Positive Affirmations
What if you could help your teen shift these thoughts with powerful affirmations for teens?
Let’s imagine your teen thinks “My effort is a greater determinate of my success than my aptitude. I consistently do my best each and every day.”
Or “My goals and aspirations are important to me, and I easily ignore peer pressure and make decisions based on what is best for me.”
Moreover, “I am beautiful, and I choose to release the desire to change my physical traits because I am perfect exactly how I am right now.”
Do you see how positive affirmations for teens could make a big impact on your teen’s self-confidence and navigate peer pressure better?
“My goals and aspirations are important to me, and I easily ignore peer pressure and make decisions based on what is best for me.”
Get Your Teen to Practice Positive Thinking With the Help of Positive Thinking Apps
You might be thinking, “This sounds great, but I am never going to get my teen to say or remember those affirmations.”
This is why I recommend the ThinkUp App to all my teen clients.
The ThinkUp App allows your teen to search a directory of positive affirmations in categories like self-confidence, gratitude, and overcoming anxiety and stress and pick around 15-20 to add to their favorites.
Then they record their personal affirmations and choose background music. Since the affirmations are in their own voices, they serve as a powerful tool to help your teen develop a positive mindset, remain confident, and make smart decisions.
Claire Ketchum’s Experience
Some of my teen clients were resistant at first, but once I helped them set up the ThinkUp App with their favorite affirmations, they all loved it.
Now, whenever they need a relaxing break or a confidence boost during the day, they can conveniently pop on headphones and listen to their affirmations.
It makes it much more likely that they’ll do it and remain at ease throughout their day.
Because I love the ThinkUp App so much, I partnered with them and created positive affirmations just for teens. I have spent over twenty years working and living with teenagers, so I know exactly what stresses teens out.
It’s for this reason that I created the Healthy Habits Affirmations for teens to help them break out of The Chronic Stress Loop and be happier and healthier versions of themselves.
Download the ThinkUp app today and help your teen choose among its list of positive affirmations for teens. If you have any questions or need any help, feel free to leave a comment down below.
The first step to becoming more self-confident is by loving yourself. When you love yourself, your body resonates and attracts loving things into your life. This is where love affirmations can help.
Love Affirmations
Positive affirmations, when done on a regular basis, can go a long way in reinforcing your confidence and keeping your eyes fixed on your goals. The same is also true for love affirmations.
By constantly reminding yourself of who you are and what you have to give, you train your subconscious to accept no less than what you deserve.
Saying powerful self-affirmations with confidence is not something that you will learn overnight, but with the help of positive thinking apps like ThinkUp, you will soon be right on track.
Getting Acquainted With the ThinkUp App
Here’s how the app works.
Start either by selecting love affirmations from our list or creating your own. Then, record your chosen love affirmations using your own voice.
This part is important because your our brain is more responsive to ideas when they’re said in your voice.
After you’re done recording your love affirmations, you can either choose to add background music to it or you can go ahead and practice with reading them to yourself out loud.
Love Affirmations Samples
Love affirmations can be anything from “Everyday I love myself a bit more”, “I accept myself exactly as I am,” or “ I am learning to be thankful and grateful for the love in my life.”
Another approach would be affirmations such as “I deserve to be loved”, “I am a good person capable of giving love,” etc.
If the suggested affirmations do not resonate with you, you can easily make your own love affirmations. Just make sure that they ring true to you. Otherwise, your body will reject them, and the affirmations will not be effective.
7 Most Popular Love Affirmations on ThinkUp
If those samples are not enough for you, here are seven of the most popular love affirmations on ThinkUp to give you a head start.

After three years of reading positive affirmations and getting emails about people’s challenges and successes, I would like to share the most popular affirmations from my favorite positive thinking app, ThinkUp.
ThinkUp
For all the people who are not familiar with ThinkUp, it is an app that helps you make your self-talk positive by letting you choose the mindset you would like to adopt.

How does ThinkUp work?
First, choose self-affirmations that resonate with you, then record them. Once you’ve recorded your affirmations, we recommend listening to it at least once a day for one month.

Through repetition, you can rewire your brain and make your thinking patterns more positive.

If certain positive affirmations make you feel uncomfortable, you can revise them and tailor them to your own situation and aspirations.
For example, if your affirmation is “I love myself” and you don’t believe it when you hear it, try “every day I love my self a bit more.”
After that, your mind will look for evidence that you love yourself more than yesterday.
There’s currently a lot of positive affirmations to choose from, but if you also have a list of your favorite affirmations, we greatly encourage sharing them down below to increase the amount of positivity going around.
What we focus on can have an intense impact on what happens in our lives. This is why for people who wish to attract specific things into their lives, practicing affirmations for law of attraction on a regular basis is a must.
What Does it Take in Order for Everything to Happen the Way We Want?
The first step to achieving our desires is to increase the positive energy we give. To do this, visualize your desires until a sensation appears. If this sensation or emotion makes you feel good, then you are on the right path! Just focus on the positive feelings and keep them in your memory for future reference.
Rewiring Your Brain to Feel Positive
Practicing with increasing your positive energy may feel awkward at first. However, this is a process that is just like learning to dance. The more you practice, the easier it becomes.
As you get better at this, you will start to attract what your heart desires. Continue to improve this technique by focusing on those uplifting moments. Be with yourself without distractions and allow yourself to really feel your feelings.
Focus on Positive Sensations
By practicing techniques to increase positive emotions, you will see that your world will change from the inside out.
You will start to look for quality time with yourself, and you will not be lonely on your own anymore.
This is where the magic starts to happen.
You will soon find that you will depend less on the outside world and connect with yourself more as you focus on your inner thoughts and feelings.
