An App that makes you feel better

As a CEO of ThinkUp, a leading app for developing a positive mindset, I have come across many exciting success stories. For instance, I heard that ThinkUp has helped with symptoms of depression, changing people’s self-talk, and reducing anxiety symptoms.

Following a conversation with a woman who is taking care of her dying husband, I was glad to discover ThinkUp helped her overcome emotions of guilt as well as loneliness.

Additionally, I was delighted to hear of an Arabic woman who asked for a translation of the app to Arabic for her community. Her aim was to make sure that they did not miss out the chance to embrace peace and self-love in their heart.

However, the following story is the most exciting one for me:

Recently, I heard about a family who arrived at Stanford hospital for necessary heart surgery for their infant child.

Just before of the surgery, the infant had an infection. This complicated the situation and obviously increased fear and stress amongst the parents. Their child was under anesthesia and connected to a respirator.

That day, I went to a conference, but I couldn’t focus. My mind was occupied with thoughts of the child. However, I was encouraged to call the family. I wanted to be of help, although in the moment I had no idea how I could do that.

Once I arrived at the hospital, I saw two desperate parents who were longing for any help they could get. The situation was miserable. They needed a miracle.

At the beginning, I explained my specialty.

“I can make a soundtrack for your child that will give him power and strength that will eventually help his body.”At first, they looked at me as if I was talking about some magic. However, I explained to them that, the more positivity their child will come across, the more his brain can build a better immune system as shown by research.

It is not a standalone tool, and I don’t really know the reasons why Jonathan woke up a week later. However, I do know that he is well now, feeling better than ever. Instead of listening to his crying mother, he heard her voice reassuring to him, “My dear child, I know that it is hard time for you, but mommy loves you. I want to play with you and be with you for many years. Your brother misses you and wants to watch movies with you, and daddy wants to hold you and hug you.”

We sat there for almost an hour and recorded little Jonathan’s beautiful meditation soundtrack. Mommy and Daddy got to encourage him with comforting phrases such as, “we love you, and need you to be strong for the family and for yourself. We would like to hug you and play with you again”. When the parents heard the track combined with very soft and relaxing music after recording it, they started to cry. In such an overwhelming situation, I think this was one of the only little hopes they had remaining.

Now baby Jonathan is feeling much better, and my heart is bursting with joy because I created an app that can help people like Jonathan feel better. And this is not the only story. We have hundreds of successes ranging from losing 300 pounds to extraordinary recovery from cancer surgery. I am grateful for this app. It changed and continues to change my life and that of many other people. Consequently, my mission is to spread this positivity and positive self-talk to every corner of the world.

However, I cannot do this alone, change begins with a community. Please join our community of Think Up and help spread and share our app to revolutionize the lives of many people around the globe.

Soup of Happiness

What is happiness?
Can happiness be measured?
What or who controls our happiness?
Is it possible to be in a state of everlasting happiness?

Have you ever thought about the answers to these questions? Do you sometimes sit and think about happiness and the sources that bring it into your life?

Happiness is a state of mind; it’s a practice, a concept and something that is beyond measure. There are things and people that make us happy but true happiness can only enter our life when we allow it too. Yes, happiness can be controlled and the only person who can control your happiness, is you! The problem is that most people believe it’s things and other people that are responsible for our happiness. When you bring in a paradigm shift towards your understanding of happiness and realize that nothing and no one can give you happiness, except you, yourself, you will be in a forever state of happiness.

Let’s look at this way- happiness is a delectable soup that requires 7 unique ingredients. If you want to perfectly cook happiness and make everyday full of flavor and aroma, you need to bring in these 7 ingredients. While every ingredient in itself is capable of achieving happiness, a combination off all 7 is the perfect mix!

Are you ready to cook up some happiness? Here are the 7 ingredients you will require…

Ingredient 1
Look at the fraction as a whole -Embrace what you have
Take it as an 80-20 formula! When something gives you 80% joy and 20% disappointment or unhappiness, focus on the 80% and look at it like it 100%. For example, when you have a baby 80% happiness comes in the form of love and 20% comes in the form of sleepless nights! Expect only to 80% from any situation.Change the way you think and train yourself to love the unperfect. Every time you want life to be perfect change your perspective and except the 80% as it 100%. An expecting perfect situation will bring only suffer and disappointments. Train yourself to look at the imperfect situation as a perfect one.
Believing ‘The grass is greener on the other side’ is what kills happiness! Stop looking over the fence and look within! Every life experience brings in a great number of positives and happiness and as soon as we start focusing on that, the minor downs and lows of life will seem insignificant.

Ingredient 2
Practice Positivity
Happiness comes by practice. When you consciously allow the positive thoughts to take over the negative and make a choice to only allow happiness in your life, you will receive it! Every moment gives us a chance to be positive or negative- choose the positive and bring in true happiness.

Ingredient 3
Make a Difference!
There are so many people around us who need help. Donating money for a cause or volunteering to help those in need brings in a sense of satisfaction and happiness that is unmatched to happiness received by material things.

Ingredient 4
Learn and Grow Everyday
Never stop learning and never stop growing as an individual. Allow new things and experiences to open up your mind to newer possibilities. Create yourself everyday and do something you may have never done or even thought off. Never stop expanding your horizons.

Ingredient 5
Make Someone’s day, everyday!
Every day of life is a new challenge and a new opportunity to help someone or make someone’s day. Reach out to anyone around you who may need your help. Be open and approachable and be someone that people seek when in need.

Ingredient 6
Bring out the Child within!
All of us have a little child inside who is waiting to be let out! Play, sing, dance, run, laugh, love, paint, create… do everything the child in you wants to do. Don’t stop the child from being a child. Be a child and embrace the child within you.

Ingredient 7
Reflect and Introspect
Sometimes are happiness gets hidden or buried under other emotions. Take out time to just relax, reflect and introspect about life. Talk to yourself and slowly unburden the mind until happiness finds its way to the top. Remove everything that is hiding happiness and make it shine and radiate it through all your senses.

These are the 7 unique ingredients that guarantee true happiness in life! Cook it up and nourish your mind and body every day. It’s delicious, addictive and something you don’t want to miss! Happiness is in every corner, waiting to be found and embraced… don’t ignore it! Seek happiness in everything you do, allow your inner happiness to be the main element in your life and you will never stop being happy. Do you want to be happy? Yes, of course! SO BE!

Happiness already exists within you; all you have to do is find it! Be positive, think positive and allow only positivity to rule your life. You are in charge of how you feel and if you decide to feel happy, nothing can stop you!

Satisfaction

How to increase your life satisfaction.

All we want in life is to find satisfaction. We are raised to believe that more money, a better job or finding true love is the secret to leading a more satisfied life. But the answer isn’t found in material objects or other people, but rather within ourselves, who we are, and what we do.

Satisfaction is skill that needs to be developed by practicing, like our other muscles or skills we may have. In order to find satisfaction you need to develop gratitude and gratefulness as a skill. If you are complain all the time you eventually only focus on your issue, which decreases your energy level, and will only continue to make your problem continue to grow.

If you would like to stop the process of being unsatisfied, you need to start finding positive things in everything you do. You must learn how to focus on the good things and practice that skill daily.

Let me share a private story of mine with you.

While I was in my 20’s I received my degree, and  started to work in a high tech company as an engineer. I earned a lot of money, especially for a newly graduated student, had a boyfriend that I loved, and had a nice job. But my soul felt that something was imprecise and still missing in my life.

Then, for the first time of my life, I felt that something was “wrong” with me.

“How could it be that I have everything I have ever wanted and yet still feel miserable”?

”How could it be that all of creation stands for me yet I am still complaining?

This job probably wasn’t my purpose or one of my strengths but 20 years later I look at things a bit differently. You need to find the happiness inside of yourself. The outside circumstances never make you happy if you are not trained to be happy. We all find reasons to be unhappy but if you want to enjoy life you need to focus your mind on the things make you feel uplifted, stronger, and empowered you.

Life doesn’t need to be perfect.

I thought about a great exercise to help practice gratitude and the skill of being happy.

  • Download the thinkUp app from the app Store.
  • Write down 10 things that you grateful for .
  • Choose music that you like.
  • Listen to your personalized meditation for one month while going to sleep.
  • listen for one month for 20 minutes a day.

Please keep practicing and write in the comments below what it does for you.

You don’t need to memorize or put any extra effort into this.

After one month your satisfaction skills will be much developed and you will be able to look at things a bit differently.

This exercise has helped out so many people that wanted to help themselves, so why wouldn’t it work for you? You are worth the effort.

How to find Purpose and Uniqueness?

Since I was twenty I have always wanted to retire and practice meditation.I went to six long retreats as well as followed monks and gurus all over the world. I traveled to Thailand with my mother, slept on the floor, ate only rice, and was completely silent for ten days. I did this six times. I would sit on the floor and meditate for almost seventeen hours a day. This meditation helped me find a way to make myself feel better, alive, change my thinking patterns, and feel more powerful, as if I could do anything.

My uniqueness has come from all of these experiences. My passion is to help people find their uniqueness and be their best self. To help people change their thinking pattern to a winning one.

Everyone has a unique gift, something that makes them feel happy, alive, and special. It is fueled by one’s deepest passions, and developed through a never ending feeling of purpose.

You don’t compete with anyone over this gift, as it is as unique and individualized as you are. If you don’t believe that you have a gift, or don’t recognize it ,even when it stares you right in the face , this blog is for you.

Uniqueness is about being your best, and allowing yourself to feel excited and alive. In this state, you can do anything without limitations. Finding your uniqueness is like being in love with yourself and the life you live.

In order to find it, you should explore yourself and discover what excites you, what you fear the most, and what you will need to release or let go of in order for you to be your best self.

The first step is to understand that you are special just the way you are.You don’t need to copy or compare yourself to anyone else. Everyone has their own unique journey.

Focus on your strengths and gifts: a combination of what you’re good at and the journey you are on. Your gift can be anything from your loyalty, organization skills, sense of humor, your esthetic skills, to even the way you see the world. It can be any skill that you combine with your knowledge from life.

Try to forget your fears. Leave them behind and don’t let them get the best of you. Allow yourself to think in another way, and to have the courage to admit that you are as unique and wonderful as you really are.

Think back to when you were younger. Think back to times when you weren’t influenced by fears or doubt. What did you do or want to do? How did you spend your days? What was most enjoyable for you?

If you want to be truly successful invest in yourself to get the knowledge you need to find your unique factor. When you find it and focus on it and persevere it your success will blossom.”Sydney Madwed

Think about the last time you lost track of time. Were there activities that you found so interesting that you didn’t think about time, eating, or sleeping? Moments of lost time point towards areas of strong interest and deep passions.

You also need to understand that failures are lessons that rewire your brain. With every failure you continue to improve and learn new skills. Like a baby taking its first steps, you must be ready to learn by possibly failing and falling. Things aren’t always going to go your way, no matter how great you are. Sometimes we need a good wakeup call to keep us going. Sometimes, we need the pain of failure in order to correct, improve, and change ourselves.

You don’t have to change your entire life for a successful mindset. You don’t have to make huge changes like quitting your job, or moving. All you need is to find your uniqueness and focus on it. When the time is right you will know what to do with your gift.

I think I found my uniqueness. It took me forty years, but it combines all of the things that I love and are good at.

My partner and I developed a method and tool that change our thoughts to be positive ones.

By changing our thoughts and beliefs, we can change our world! We can be our very best and use our minds effectively!

Many people might be afraid to make changes in the way they think, I was afraid too, but for the ones that are willing to take the risk, have the time, and have the desire to succeed, then I have developed a great method for you to change your life.

I don’t promise that it will work for everyone in the same way, but if you continue, practice, focus on the processes, not the result, and have the guts to get to know yourself better, my tool ,ThinkUp ,can help you to become the best version of yourself.

When you are willing to embrace the journey, the challenge, and reward that come with it, you will find your uniqueness.

5 Ways To Cure Sleeping Problems

5 Ways To Cure Sleeping Problems

5 Ways To Cure Sleeping Problems

In this busy world, sleep problems have become a common phenomenon.According to studies done at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, over 40 million struggle with insomnia or sleeping issues. A lack of sleep is directly connected to a person’s ability to be productive throughout the day. Sleep is important because it allows a person’s body and brain to restore and repair itself. If you struggle with sleeping problems, there are five activities you can try to help eliminate the issue altogether.

Develop a positive thinking

Maybe you can’t stop thinking about the worries of the day. Instead of turning out the lights and worrying, try positive thinking. Banish negative self-talk. Stop beating yourself up over your perceived mistakes and focus on ways you can move forward. Thinking positive before going to sleep is a good start to sleeping well at night.

You can’t relax until you change your mindset. One way to reprogram your mind for positivity is using ThinkUp ThinkUp helps you change your thoughts from negative to positive. ThinkUp has inspiring and personalized affirmations built in, or you can add your own. Listen to your affirmations nightly before bed to get your sleep off to the right start.

Catch your breath

You’d be surprised how much you can hold in all because you don’t consciously breathe in and out. When you subconsciously hold your breath, your body tenses up and it puts you in a negative space. You need to release the breath and allow fresh air to come in. Don’t forget to take deep breaths.Breathing exercises are a recommended way to relax anywhere, anytime, including bedtime. One way to breath is breathe in through your nose for a count of 4,hold your breath for a count of 7 and release your breath from your mouth for a count of 8.Without a break, breathe in again for a count of 4, repeating the entire technique 7 times in a row, then resume normal breathing and activity.

Laugh it out

Laughter truly is medicine for the soul. Even if you’re not in the mood to laugh, try watching funny movies before bedtime. Watching an old favorite movie with good memories can be like spending time with old friends. You can try a new flick to enjoy some new laughs. Either way, funny movies can cheer you up and help you forget the worries of the day. This will lighten your mood and help you release your stress.

Start a bedtime routine

If you normally take a shower in the morning, try making it part of your bedtime routine instead. After you take a hot shower, put on some relaxing music and clean, comfortable nightclothes. A consistent routine lets the body know that it is time for bed. Some people even listen to relaxing music to help them ease into a peaceful night’s sleep.

Meditation

Many people use meditation to help form a clear, quiet mind. Take 15 minutes in the morning and/ or at night to be still and to quiet your mind. Practicing meditation will get you in a better and more consistent habit of focusing.

Quieting the mind helps you in the practice of being still. A lot of times, the mind is filled with the stress of the day. Instead of holding a bunch of chaos in your mind, it’s better to let go of it. You don’t need to be in a dark room to quiet your mind either. This is something that can be done anywhere with intentionality and practice.

There are many useful apps like headspace ,calm or Deepak Chopra and Oprah Winfrey’s meditations which I found very relaxing and useful for quieting the mind.

Happiness

6 Ways to Increase Your Self-Esteem

Happiness

Do you suffer from low self esteem? If you are prone to harsh self-judgements or negative self talk , you may be holding yourself back from happiness and opportunities. The unspoken words inside of our heads , the ones that make up our unending internal string of private thoughts, emotions and attitudes shape how we think about everything around us.

When those words are negative, they are embedded deep within our brains and make our experience harder.

Here are 7 ways I found most efficient to help you improve your self talk to positive and help you change the way you see the world.

Change your self talk to positive

One of the best ways to boost your self esteem is through starting the day with a positive affirmations. Simple “I am” statements can have so much power. Think about what is decreasing your self esteem, and create an affirmation to counter it. Repeat your affirmations throughout the day, and you will eliminate self-limiting dialogue.

ThinkUp

One way to reprogram your mind for positivity is by using the ThinkUp app. ThinkUp is a self-help app which enables you to develop a healthier mindset. This app allows you to record your voice reading affirmations. With the recordings and relaxing music of your choice, you can use this app to create a personal meditation that inspires you. Your brain trusts and understands your voice more than anyone else’s. Try out the free version of this helpful tool, and embrace your inner strength.

Recognize Your Uniqueness

There is no one on this planet like you. Consider what are your strengths. Maybe you are creative, or your work ethic is driven by your powerful story. Do you have a strong passion for something? Is there something that you do so well that other people can’t help but take notice? Own that uniqueness, and use it to look at the world in a new way.

Reward Yourself

When something goes well because of your actions, treat yourself. Often we don’t take the time to give ourselves a pat on the back. A reward doesn’t have to be lavish, but by appreciating yourself, you are establishing a practice of self-love.

If someone notices your work and offers a compliment, accept it. You have won their esteem, and they recognize your value. Know that you have done something well, and use that to boost your sense of self.

Read Inspirational Books or movies

Reading the inspiring stories of others can motivate a shift in your mindset. If you need help owning your greatness, read books or see inspirational movies. I personally like to her inspirational lectures on youTube while I am exercising . Through hearing about the struggles that others have overcome, you may find strength. Choose a sentence or phrase from an inspirational work, and create a meditation around it.

Find Positive Friends

The people with whom we share our space can impact how we feel about ourselves. Seek the people that accept you for who you are. These positive people will encourage you to let your light shine, and they will reflect back the light that you put forth.

Work on the self will improve your quality of life. You will notice that new opportunities arise as you learn to love and accept yourself.
